In the January 2 Federal Register, US Customs has published their Proposed Rules for Importer Security Filing and Additional Carrier Requirements as required by the Safe Port Act of 2006 (HR 4954).
The rules are currently in a comment period for 75 days (as extended on Feb 1). When the comment period is over, US Customs will begin preparing enforcement procedures for the new law.
